Reflexology is a complimentary therapy that has been known to promote a deeper sense of relaxation. It can help you to become more in tune to your body's needs and encourage healing.

ReflexologyIt is based on the principle that reflex points on the hands and feet relate to organs, glands, and systems of the body. A reflex is when stimulation at one point brings about a response in another area. Your therapist will apply various pressure to these reflexes on your hands or feet by using fingers and thumbs. The aim of a reflexology treatment is to help restore balance to the body naturally, and improve the client's general well-being.

What to expect

Jo will start by doing a consultation with you, asking about your health and lifestyle, to ensure reflexology is right for you. Then, sitting comfortably in a reclining reflexology chair Jo will gently cleanse your feet before applying balm to the skin and massaging your feet and ankles or hands if preferred. The areas treated and the pressure applied will be adapted to suit your individual needs.

Typically, a full reflexology session would last approximately 55 minutes which includes your consultation.

Benefits of reflexology

Reflexology can help to relieve anxiety, tension and reduce mental stress. Encourage relaxation, and improve mood and aid sleep, Some people use it to help them cope with more specific health challenges. Overall, it rebalances the whole system therefore restoring homeostasis

Reflexology should not be used in place of conventional medical care. Always consult other health professionals for medical attention and advice.
